How to be King Midas

Once upon a time when your throat got dry and you needed a refill, you 'd ask "Do you have Limca or Goldspot?". The folks of this new generation may think Goldspot is a name of a high ranking hangout but it's actually an old orange flavored drink like your Fanta, unfortunately its no longer sold and the reasons are best known to the manufacturers. She is that extinct sister of Brother Limca.

I never liked the taste..... but guess what? I loved the commercial, everytime it aired on TV, I would fly over all the sofas to barge into the sitting room only to see it.

  Gold spot! The zing thing
  Gold spot! The zing thing
  Gold spot! Tanananana, Gold spot!

Lol, that was the lyrics of the commercial.

Now,everybody hopes to strike gold someday, yea I know you are not a miner. The gold signifies your dreams but how long will it take you to get to your 'Gold spot'. I see it all over your face, you are not certain then why not be like King Midas.

King Midas is popularly remembered in Greek mythology for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold. This
came to be called the golden touch, or the Midas
touch. He touched things like river, oak twigs, stones and they all turned into gold but he touched something else that he was not supposed to touch.....that was his daughter and she became gold. Please don't emulate that part of touching your daughter,Lol!

For you to have a Midas touch, you need to discover your talent. Your talent is that God-given embedded gift in you, it could be singing, problem-solving, creative thinking, writing, drawing, good managerial ability, motivating others, dancing or anything at all.

Now, that you have discovered your talent, don't leave it sitting like a big bag of Garri doing nothing, the next step is to hone your skill. Skills help you improve your talent, read books, make research on how you can be better than you are at present.

Step three is to kindle your passion for it. Stir up that fire that makes you set your goals and work towards achieving them. When you are passionate about something, you don't let it die. Don't let your dreams die and as for digging for the gold spot, let it go.... Fix the whole issue by getting a Midas touch.

Heads up, people!

Walking into a shop to purchase an item does not look appealing to me anymore. This is one of my decisions for the new year being that if something is not worth it then there is no point buying it especially trying to impress another fellow.

I have chosen to stick to buying experiences rather 'things.' One of my observation is that experiences cannot be stolen or compromised. They stick like your gum sap sticks to a tree.

So maybe before you buy that expensive Emporio Armani wristwatch or Jimmy Choo shoes, it might be imperative to checkmate if there are experiences that same amout can buy you. Don't get me wrong, it is as clear as crystal that you need to shop for clothings, food, phones or luxury from time to time but bear in mind that your happiness can't be tied to any item. That vibe you get is nothing but a fleeting one .

“One of the enemies of  happiness is adaptation,” Thomas Gilovich reveals. “We buy things to make us happy, and we succeed. B…

Chioma was that child that will send you hiding your clothes and wrappers far away from her reach for the fear that she will tear them in shreds out of the zeal of designing and making clothes. Her first skirt was made at the age of twelve.
"Nobody taught me to sew, nobody close to me sews, I didn't even know it was a 6 pieces skirt I sewed till I finally went to a fashion school," She says with an air of humour.

"I also made bags and a pair of slippers from an old Jean material that happened to be my old skirt. My mum marveled at the thought of Jean slippers then but now we see Jean slippers everywhere." She continues.
